We envision a future where immigrant students have equal access to higher education, career success, and the resources they need to thrive.

To provide scholarships, mentorship, and resources that break down barriers and open doors to college and career opportunities for immigrant youth.

Lucie Merjeune was born and raised in Haiti, she immigrated to the United States with the dream of higher education — only to discover how many barriers stand in the way for immigrant students. With limited access to FAFSA, grants, or traditional scholarships, the path forward was never simple.
Today, Lucie is pursuing her degree at Lincoln University, the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU, where she studies Political Science with a minor in International Relations. With plans to attend law school in the future, she has seen firsthand how immigrant students often lack the mentorship, resources, and financial aid that others can rely on.
Bridges Beyond Borders Foundation was created out of this reality — and out of her determination to change it. Lucie’s vision is to empower immigrant students, especially within the Haitian community, by providing scholarships, mentorship, and resources that make education not just a dream, but a real opportunity.
This foundation is her promise: to open doors, build bridges, and ensure that every immigrant student knows their future is possible.
